Finding the right person — a co-founder, a mentor, a romantic partner, a friend in a city you just moved to — is still mostly a matter of luck and proximity. Despite everything technology has done. So I built CHARLéY.

CHARLéY is an AI-powered connection platform. Agent KWAME, the search engine at its centre, draws on personality science and cultural context to find who is genuinely right for you.

The platform runs a Big Five personality assessment. Messages translate in real time, in both directions. The feed is ordered by six factors the user controls. It is built for the communities that dating technology has designed around rather than for.

Professor KWAME, a second dimension of the platform, listens in lectures, sermons, conferences, and podcasts and turns what was said into notes and study materials. Same instinct — find the gap, close it.

Does personality predict compatibility across cultures?

I got into the personality science literature looking for an answer: whether personality predicts compatibility across cultural groups, specifically the groups that personality psychology has left out. No one had run it.

So I am running it myself. I had no research training, only a question nobody had answered.

The study is pre-registered on OSF. Before collecting any data, three independent bodies reviewed and approved the full protocol: a Research Data Trust, a Research Governance Committee, and an Independent Ethics Board. CHARLéY is both the platform and the researcher. That conflict has to be named openly. The pre-registration and governance documents are public.

An organisation built for the public good.

Kronogon is the institutional home for everything I build. The name comes from chrono (time) and gon (shape, as in polygon). The idea behind the name: that some things, given the right form, last.

Kronogon is a product company and a movement — mentorship, education, conferences, a foundation — built around young people who have more potential than opportunity.

CHARLéY and Professor KWAME live inside Kronogon. The research does too. So does everything that comes next.
